Last night just before 5 PM, Basehor Police Officer Cory Havner completed a work assignment. He left the PD to travel home on his motorcycle and just before 5:30 PM was struck by a motorist in the City of Leavenworth. He was critically injured as a result of the crash.

Officer Havner was transported to KU Medical Center by Leavenworth County EMS. He remains there in the ICU.

Officer Havner has a wife and three young daughters.

They will have financial needs to meet, both medically and domestically.

Any little bit helps. Christmas is also right around the corner.  We really appreciate the outpouring of support for Cory. We thank the Leavenworth Police and Fire Departments and Leavenworth County EMS and the the Leavenworth County Dispatchers who kept us informed of events occurring at the crash scene.

Officer Havner is a tough man. He faces a potentially very lengthy recovery process. He is surrounded by family, friends, and co-workers. He has given almost seven years to the citizens of Basehor, and has been a dedicated public servant for over a decade.

We thank you for any support you can provide
