Every donation for an item listed in this campaign directly benefits the 501c3 nonprofit organization, OfficerDown.US, dedicated to helping Officers and their families.
OfficerDown.US is a supportive website for Law Enforcement related fundraisers ONLY, supporting not only LEOs, but also their families, coworkers, departments, and the community as related to by Law Enforcement. All donations receive an instant receipt making them a tax write-off. We are a national nonprofit 501c3 dedicated to supporting Law Enforcement Officers and the Thin Blue Line.
Furthermore, each person who needs to raise funds can do so with their own individual fundraising campaign on OfficerDown.US. All donations to their campaign receive an instant receipt with our IRS tax ID, making them a write-off too. Also, the recipient of the funds (the checking account associated with the direct deposit) also maintains the tax benefit. This is obviously beneficial and an additional incentive for donors and all recipients who would otherwise be responsible for a gift tax, when receiving large sums of money by other means.
