This fundraiser has been established by members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department community on behalf of Officer Lim, his wife, and their 5 month old daughter Ellie.
LVMPD Officer Lim is a newly commissioned on the Department and works out of the Boulden Area Command (BA14).
In the first week of August their family was dealt a heavy blow and they continue to be met with extreme challenges, emotionally and financially.
While taking their daughter for her routine 4 month well visit she was diagnosed with a heart condition called Dilated Cardiopathy (DCM). Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle causing the ventricles to not pump blood as well as a healthy heart can -- this is life threatening. Within 2 days of Ellie's diagnosis she underwent exploratory surgery and was airlifted from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to UCLA Children’s Hospital.
Baby Ellie is currently on the heart transplant list.
If a transplant occurs, Ellie will have to remain in the hospital for at least 6 months for observation. Officer Lim and his wife are now away from home in Los Angles and have been accepted at Ronald McDonald housing.
The members of the LVMPD who have established this fund wish to aid with the mounting medical expenses, living expenses, and possible lost wages.
We are all in this together!
We are family, blood and blue.
We truly believe that no one, not even our smallest members, should ever fight alone!
