February 7, 2016 LVMPD Sgt. Mike Ford died in his sleep at just 47 years old.

Left behind is Sergeant Mike Ford's loving wife and three school aged children.
4Sgt. Mike Ford was a 2nd Battalion Army Airborne Ranger 75th Ranger Regiment and jumped into combat in Panama 1989.
Mike took tremendous pride in his country, his family, and his job. He coached his boys' football team and loved to go to his daughter's softball tournaments.
Sgt. Mike Ford had been with LVMPD for 20 years!
worked patrol as an FTO and a resident Officer in Laughlin, NV. He had also been assigned to the gang unit as an investigator prior to becoming a detective in Intel. Ultimately Mike was promoted to Sergeant Mike Ford and worked Convention Center before going to P1 on light duty due to illness.
Mike's most recent assignment was Patrol Investigations Sergeant at Convention Center.
The funds raised will be giving to Mike's wife and children.
The above video was kindly provided by Channel 8. It was filmed days before Sgt. Mike Ford's death, yet aired the day after. With anticipation for yet one more personal glimpse into Sgt. Mike's life, many friends and coworkers waited to view it. Somehow, it has made many feel just a little bit closer to Mike as he will be remembered. RIP Sarge!
