On August 13, 2018, at 2:49AM, Officer Jordan Wingate(solo driver) was responding to a call of a suspicious persons in the area of 7th Street and Middle Harbor. The marked patrol vehicle traveling Eastbound in the 1900 block of Middle Harbor collided with a civilian car and then a parked semi-truck. Officer Wingate was extricated by the Oakland Fire Department and taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

He is still in a coma, listed in critical but stable condition. The doctors advise that Officer Wingate’s fight to recovery has only just started. 

Officer Jordan Wingate is 23 years-old. Officer Wingate started his career with the Oakland Police Department as a Police Cadet in 2013. In 2016 he was hired as a Police Officer Trainee (POT)and graduated from the Oakland Police Department’s 176th Basic Academy on May 2017. Officer Wingate is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.


This fundraiser was started NLPOA Alameda chapter and funds will go directly to the family or the bank account set up by the family via NLPOA Alameda.
