***UPDATE***

On Thursday, August 25th, Sergeant William "Will" Seifert P#3508 passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

The family would like to invite everyone to join them in a celebration of life for Sergeant Seifert.

Services are Wednesday, August 31 at 2pm at Trinity United Methodist Church (6151 W. Charleston). A reception will follow. Will was a huge Denver Broncos fan so the family would love to see people in Broncos blue and orange or Broncos attire.

Please direct any questions to Marcus Martin, Blake Smith, Bill Pates, Frank Farmer, Rick Given, or Michelle Jotz.

*****

Sergeant William Seifert has been with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for nearly 20 years. In January of 2015, he developed a lump on the right side of his face/cheek. That lump was later diagnosed as Stage IV Merkel Cell Carcinoma, an extremely aggressive form of skin cancer with a very high mortality rate. Will underwent several rounds of chemo, radiation, and even rounds of a trial medication but, a year and a half later, Will's prognosis is grim. He has been admitted to hospice while his wife of 20 years (Sunni) and two kids (Aspen-17 and Will-7) prepare for his passing. They are also bracing themselves for the eventual medical bills that come with months and months of treatment, extended hospital stays, in-home medical care, and hospice in additional to the loss of a big portion of family income.

This is an amazing family who is about to lose an incredible husband, father, friend, and human being. It would be wonderful if the one thing they didn't have to worry about was how to survive financially. Any support is greatly appreciated and it is with great humility that we reach out on their behalf.

Thank you so much for your generosity.
