Nobody expected Oologah Police Lt. Charles Neill to survive the .223 round to his head, fired from the back of a vehicle he was pursuing on May 28, 2015. Almost three years later, he remains in workers' comp limbo, waiting to be cleared so he can be medically retired for his line-of-duty injury. Until that happens, he can't seek outside medical assistance or go back to work. And in the meantime, he has to fight for every doctor's appointment and his temporary disability payments from the state are about to expire.

Lt. Neill survived his injury only to be greeted with a bill for his medi-vac helicopter for $36,000!

He had to go to court to get that and other medical bills paid by the state, and everything else has been an incredible struggle. His wife is a school teacher and they have two children. They've sold their home and downsized, sold several vehicles, and cut corners every place they know how.

Having graduated with a degree in Justice Administration two weeks before he was shot, Lt. Neill had looked forward to transitioning into federal law enforcement for the rest of his career. His line-of-duty injury has dashed those dreams, and the wounded hero must now struggle to rebuild his life.

Please help if you're able to contribute, and keep him in your prayers!
