Sheriff John Cary Bittick of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Deputy Wilson was released September 16th from  Navicent Health.

"He was pretty sore and walking with the assistance of a walker. His spirits were good, he gave me a hug when I walked in the room, but psychologically, I think it's going to be a trying time," Bittick said.

This fundraiser is to assist Deputy Jeffrey Wilson and his family while recovering from his extensive injuries caused from being shot in the line of duty.  He was shot in the stomach and the leg.  He had been dispatched due to reports of a man attempting to commit suicide.
