The Clark County Coroner identified Security Officer Yoseph Almonte, 31, as the Wynn security officer who was shot and killed in a murder-suicide at the resort’s employee parking garage March 9. His cause and manner of death are still pending.
The coroner earlier identified Reggie Tagget, 42, as the other Wynn employee involved in the incident. His death was ruled a suicide, caused by a contact gunshot wound of the chest.
Tagget allegedly shot and killed Almonte at the Wynn employee parking garage before turning the gun on himself.
During a briefing after the incident, homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said the suspect, who had been a no-show at work for the previous two days, arrived on property. Once Tagget pulled into the parking garage and used his proxy card, it triggered security due to his recent absence.
He parked his vehicle in the fifth-floor of the parking garage.
When Almonte went to check on Tagget’s welfare, he was met with gunfire when he approached the vehicle door. The security officer was struck multiple times and pronounced dead on scene.
Spencer says the suspect walked away from the vehicle and shot himself once. He was also pronounced dead on scene.
