Nueces County Precinct Four Constable Deputy David Moats died of a sudden illness while he and his family were attempting to recover from the total devastation Hurricane Harvey brought into their lives.

Deputy Moats was married to Cindy Moats who was an elementary school teacher in Port Aransas, Texas. They had a teenage son and daughter who both looked up to and loved David dearly. Both children plan on attending college after they graduate from Port Aransas High School.

The Moats family were temporarily displaced and were working hard to salvage what little was left after Hurricane Harvey ravaged their home. They were working to recover from the devastating losses when yet another devastating tragedy struck this family in the sudden loss of David, their protector and hero.

Deputy Moats served in the Army retiring as a Major. He dedicated his life to serving and protecting the citizens of this nation and was working for the Nueces County Precinct Four Constable's Office in Port Aransas, Texas at the time of his untimely passing.
